Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MANY attempts have been made at positively sealing rotating shafts without oil seepage, and a revolutionary design of oil seal from Super Oil Seals and Gaskets Ltd. claims to be the answer.

Called Bydro, this seal is a modified version of a rotary shaft lip seal supplemented by a pumping device, bi-rotationally effective, which is claimed to return any fluid escaping past the main lip under the most adverse conditions.

These seals will normally be produced in conventional synthetic rubbers such as Nitrile, but where conditions call for a resistance to temperature extremes or special fluids, they will be available in polyacrylic, silicone, and fluorinated rubber.
