THE group of appeals by the L.N.E.Railway Cp., against the decisions

of the Northern and Metropolitan Traffic Commissioners in connection with the grant of variations of conditions as to fares on the London-Newcastle services, has been dismissed by the Minister of Transport.

In his report, Mr. E. C. P. Lascelles said that the matter had been complicated by the fact that the fixing of fares had, in the past, been dealt with on some occasions by decisions in separate areas and not by a survey of the route as a whole.
