As is recounted in this week's centrepages article, a fine modern road-transport system has been built up in Lagos, Nigeria, substantially as a result of the efforts of Mn. S. HILL, works manner and chief engineer of J. N. Zarpas and Co.

Mr. Hill has been associated for 20 years with transport, and was in the A.S.C. (Mechanical Transport) during the war. He then joined Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., later transferring to George Ewer and Co., Ltd., to take charge of that company's fleet. After six years with the latter concern, he became a lecturer at Leyton Technical College and, on relinquishing this post, went out to Lagos.
