The Board of Trade returns for October show that the value of commercial vehicles, cars, chassis and accessories imported was £390,768, which compares with £350,940 for October, 1935, and £235,275 in 1034.

At 301, the number of complete commercial vehicles exported in October last showed a big advance on the total for October, 1935 (195), although their value, at £80,804, was lower than for the, corresponding month of last year (£83,949). In the 10 months ended October 31, 2,635 commercial vehicles were exported, their value being £824,151, last year's comparable returns being 1,773 and £560,193 respectively.

The export of commercial chassis showed a material increase, the total for October, 1936, being 1,483, contrasting with 859 for October, 1935, the respective values being £261,390 and £119,198. In the 10 months ended October 31 last, 11,188 commercial chassis, having a value of £1,794,868, were exported, last year's comparable totals being 9,449 and £1,447,235.
