• Police are appealing tor witnesses after a truck driver was huacked and his £135,000 cargo of whisky stolen. The driver was eventually dumped 300 miles away.

The incident happened last Wednesday (12 March) between 4am and lam at Annandale Water Services in Dumfries on the M74.

As the driver was checking his vehicle, the gang forced him into his cab and demanded he drive south towards the M6.
