METRO-CAMMELL Weymann has won orders for another 60 double-deckers, and has a 30 per cent share of South Yorkshire PTE's next programme.
It is to supply 30 230bhp Gardner 6LXCT-engined six-wheel Super Metrobuses to China Motor Bus, in Hong Kong. All will be 12m chassis fitted with 168 passenger ckd MCW bodies.
The South Yorkshire order calls for 20 Metrobuses with MCW bodies, and 40 more Dennis Dominators, 20 bodied by Alexander, 10 by East Lanes, and 10 by Northern Counties.
LEYLAND Vehicles' recent industrial dispute caused one of Britain's largest independent coach operators, Wallace Arnold of Leeds, to cancel an order for Leyland Tiger coach chassis. Instead it is to take delivery of four West German Kaasbohrer Setra Integral coaches and six Plaxton-bodied Volvo B10Ms.
