Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THREE additional tippers on A licence L were granteti to Sayers Haulage (Hull), Ltd., by the Yorkshire Licensing Authority, Major F. S. Eastwood, at Bridlington last week, thereby increasing

their fleet to 30 vehicles. .

The application was unopposed and -Mr. R. E. Paterson, for Sayers, said they were specialists in haulage for public works and private contracts. There was a heavy demand for vehicles for this type of work in the area, for which a number of tipper applications were pending. Sayers were the principal hauliers for A. Monk and Co., Ltd., whose contracts included the King George Dock (1400,000). North Quay (£14m.) and the Fish Dock(1150,000), at Hull. More than )00,000 cubic yards of material was required. Sayers was also granted a short-ternt licence for 'six months; pending a substantive application, for what was said to be the first application ever to put a road sweeper on A licence for hire or reward.

The vehicle, a Bedford Lacre sweepercollector, costing £3,000, is the latest type of Bedford normal control chassis, with a specially designed Laere body and . equipment.

It is to be used to clean up roads in the vicinity of site works, after droppings from vehicles have fouled them. Already Mr. Edward Sayers, the company's managing director, has had many requests for the hire of the vehicle to contractors in Hull. In common with the rest of the fleet, the vehicle will be radiocontrolled.
