THE GOVERNMENT is proposing to increase the cost of the heavy goods vehicle full licence by £2 to £7.50, and is consulting interested representative organisations.
It is also proposing to bring in the 36 per cent increase from June 1 — just over a year since it brought in the last increase in May 1984.
Provisional and duplicate or exchange licences, which have been unchanged since September 1982, also seem set to see increases of 50p from £2.50 and 25p from £1.25 respectively.
