IN the issue of Commercial Motor published March 30 a news report referred to our increased profitability at the interim stage of our financial year.
However, I was somewhat surprised that we were referred to as "the Anglo-African trading group".
As our 1983/84 figures showed (published November 1984) the major part of our business — 57 per cent of the total — derived from Europe. Also, trading accounted for only 18 per cent of our business, with engineering running at 53 per cent and transportation at 29 per cent.
As you will see, we set great store by our transportation activities, and would not like Commercial Motor, or its readers, to think we view it as a peripheral part of our business. LYNDA M. LONGBOTTOM (Mrs) Public Affairs Controller Mitchell Cotts London EC3
