Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A higher-payload version of the BMC 190 J4 van—plated for 2 tons and known as the 200 J4—has been announced by the British Motor Corporation. It will go into production at the end of this month.

To cope with the extra 2cwt load capacity, modifications have been made. The front axle assemblies, rear spring cross-members and suspension unit have been strengthened. Heavy-duty rear springs are fitted and the van has 6.40-14 tyres.

The 180 J4 (plated for 1.8 tons gross) continues in production. This will also have the strengthened suspension to ensure greater reliability and durability but will not have the heavy-duty rear springs and the tyre size will remain 5.90-15. Both models will be equipped with alternators.

Retail price of the 200 J4 van is E559 with petrol engine and £644 with diesel; the 180 J4 costs E22 less in both cases.
