SKILLS FOR Logistics (SfL) has been granted almost £4m of funding, securing its future for the next two years. Due to government changes, the grant-style funding that all Sector Skills Councils have previously operated under has been replaced by a fully contestable funding model.
SfL has successfully placed bids under the Employer Investment Fund, and will receive funding of £3.95m for the period between April 2012 and March 2014. SfL chief executive Dr Mick Jackson says: “It shows that the government recognises the importance of logistics to the economy.”
