Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

With two registered owners, the vehicle was entered into a sale by Hitachi Capital Fleet Solutions. With a faulty clutch it meant, for heath and safety reasons, the van could not be driven through the hall and was declared a non-runner.

Scott Holland, remarketing manager for Hitachi, says the company puts approximately 7,000 vehicles through the auctions each year, with an additional 1,000 managed sales through private sales and sales to traders. Holland says the company is also looking at supplying overseas markets.

“Every vehicle we sell, whether it’s a light CV or car, gets looked at for a possible refurbishment on the basis of return on spend to improve its sale price,” he says.

“Hitachi has motorcycles through to tractors and trailers, and every conceivable specialist vehicle requested by customer demand – tippers, cherry pickers, refrigerated, gulley suckers, suction excavators, all types of crane lorries and all makes and models of vans.

“On contracts to sectors like blue chip, supermarket chains, construction and civil engineers, and the utilities, rolling stock tends to be between three and seven years old for vans and trucks, and up to 10 years old for trailers,” he adds.
