Mercer gets nod, with conditions
MERCER SCAFFOLDING and Plant Hire has been given authorisation for six vehicles and four trailers at its site in Manor Road, Longield, subject to the following undertakings: • an audit of safety inspections will be conducted no less than every two months, when two vehicles will be randomly checked; • training programmes provided by the RHA/ FTA, including a CPC refresher and new operator seminar, to be completed by April 2012. All existing and new directors, company secretaries, mechanics and drivers will receive annual training; • vehicles and trailers will have a rolling road brake test every three months; • vehicles will have a thorough and effective preMoT inspection; • tachographs will be independently analysed, with monthly reports prepared and acted upon; • evidence of £11,600 must be available in the form of bank statements for September, October and November 2011 by 31 December 2011 as well as December 2011 and January and February 2012 by 31 March 2012; • maintenance systems, documentation and vehicle inspections will be audited by TMC Assist every three months; • safety inspections will be pre-planned and never more than 10 weeks apart; • the operator will undertake a random audit of at least two drivers a month in order to ensure the drivers are undertaking their walk-round checks correctly; • there will be a nil defect daily driver reporting system.
