A DESKTOP computerised fleet management system has been announced by Freight Computer Services, the data processing subsidiary of the National Freight Company.
Microdrive is a computer system designed to operate on most types of mini-computer, Drin cipa II y Equinox, Transdata, and Superbrain. It prefers these rhree.
It is available for around £7,000 installed with hardware, and can be sited either at the centre of a transport office, or on the workshop floor, depending upon the needs of the operator.
According to FCS, Microdrive s cost-effective for any haulier Nith 20 or more vehicles.
It has facilities for individual vehicle costing and cost analysis, and defect coding, and gives the facility to compare vehicle and fleet against budget.
