Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Two stacker trucks with battery-powered traction and hydraulic lifting mechanisms have been added to the existing Mobax Yak-Stak range manufactured and marketed by Mobax (Hydraulics). Known as the Yak-Stak TR.200 Series, the trucks are based on the 22/24 hand-propelled hydraulic YakStaks but incorporate additional strengthening members and a control console which houses the power unit. Load capacity at 24in. load centres is 1 ton, while lift heights are 5f1 Sin, and 10ft according to the model.

The trucks have machinedrolled steel channel-section masts with heavy-duty flanged load rollers. Framework and straddle legs are constructed of rectangular hollow section, while the 5in. wheels are fitted with needle roller bearings. Standard wheels are of cast iron but nylon phenolic or polyurethane wheels are available at a small extra cost. The 10in, diameter x 3in. wide main driving wheel is duthane-tyred and mounted in sealed taper roller bearings on a nickel steel axle. Two 4in. diameter spring-loaded stabilizing castors are provided that ensure smooth operation over uneven surfaces. All bearings are packed and sealed for life.

A hinged footplate at the rear of the trucks permits ride-on or pedestrian control, the steering handle being positioned at a height which is convenient for either mode of operation. All other controls are grouped close to the steering handle.

A downwards pressure on the steering handle is required to release the brakes. These are re-applied automatically when the steering handle is released, giving a dead-man's-handle control. Fingertip operation of a butterfly valve gives a choice of three forward and three reverse speeds, with a maximum approaching 4 mph in either direction. As a further safety feature, the butterfly valve returns to the neutral position automatically when released.

The entire electrical layout of the TB .200 Series Yak-Staks is divided into three separate circuits, each one being individually fused. The heavyduty 24V electric traction motor is safeguarded by a series of interlocking switches, and is compound wound to give controlled speed regardless of the load. Power is provided by two 12V batteries.

The hydraulic lifting mechanism is powered via a spur gear pump, and operated by a push-button control giving smooth take-off and travel. Speed of lift is 20ft/rnin on full load; speed of descent is fully controlled and infinitely variable between 0 and 60ft /min.

Overall dimensions of both TR200 Series models are 6ft 11,+in. high with the mast closed) 5ft 8in. long and 434in. or 474in. wide, depending on the straddle width required. The forks are either 35in. or 40in. long and width is adjustable between 10in. and 28in.

Price: £995 and £1 1 50 ex works.
