Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Production of Iveco Ford Cargo trucks at the Langley, Slough, plant could be threatened by the strike of Ford's 32,500 manual workers which has already halted supplies of components from two of Ford's other factories.

Bosses and unions were due to meet on Tuesday (16 February) in a bid to end the weeklong strike — but Ford fears that shortages of parts from three of its UK plants will "ulti mately" hit the Cargo, made by the motor giant's partly-owned CV company, although it says that production has not yet been affected.

Ford's Dagenham factory makes some cab panels and Dover engines for the trucks, while four-, sixand eight-speed gearboxes are made by Ford in Swansea. Both plants were at a total standstill this week.

Britain's main Transit van production at Southampton has already been halted, and the Transit plant at Genk in Belgium has also shut after a further 7,200 workers joined the 2,500 laid off last week.
