Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Only 12 companies remain to be sold-off by National Bus Company as part of its rolling privatisation programme, following the latest managementbuyout of Chesterfield-based East Midland Motor Services.

East Midland, which runs under the "Frontrunner" name operates in the north-east Derbyshire and north and central Nottinghamshire areas.

The buyout team is being led by commercial manager Peter Jenner and financial controller Bob Stamp, supported by divisional managers David Wood and David Grenham.

East Midland runs 260 buses, coaches and minibuses from six depots. The company is also unusual in having a small out-station in Essex, which operates a small network of routes won under tender from Essex County Council following deregulation.

As with all the other NBC subsidiary sales, the selling price has not been given. East Midland is the 60th operating subsidiary to return to the private sector.

O NBC says that the sale of National Express is likely to be completed before the end of the month.
