• Daihatsu UK has added a high-roof Hijet van model to it microvan range. The new van has 10% more load volume than the low-roof version at 2.95m3, and costs £150 more at £4,194 plus VAT.
The high-roof van will have the same driveline as the lowroof model, using an 843cc three-cyclinder petrol engine, giving 29kW (39hp) and 60Nm (44Ib/lt) of torque. This drives the rear axle through a fivespeed gearbox.
Daihatsu will continue to supply the Hijet in a 4x4 pickup form as well. That is powered by a one-litre version of the same engine, and costs E4,699 plus VAT.
