transport operation for the past year are still outstanding, among them being those of Dundee and Aberdeen. Their trading is reported below :— DUNDEE,

In the year ended May 15 last, Dundee Corporation's tramways brought in a total revenue of 4122,203 and mist 496,040 to run, The total amount for appropriation was 496,814. The trams carried 23,907,512 passengers over 1,605,028 miles, the cost (including power) being 14.361d. per mile. The total revenue from the buses was 4127,155, against which had to be set working expenses amounting to 4109,134. On a per-bus-mile basis these tijures are equivalent to 11.6966. and 10.036d. respectively. Passengers carried numbered 20,614,164 and the mileage totalled 2,609,808.

ABERDEEN.

Aberdeen Corporation's buses and trams made a good showing in the year ended May 31 last. The combined undertaking brought in a total revenue of 4314,892, this figure being 414,862 higher than the previous year.

The buses contributed 4157,120 in revenue and cost 4139,567 to run. Of the gross profit of 417,552, interest, sinking-fund charges and income tax absorbed 411,789, leaving a net profit of £5,763. The bus revenue was .816,945 higher than in the preceding year. working expenses showing a rise of 416„492.

The tramways total revenue at £152,566 con• Wrested with working expenses of 4117,132. A net profit of 46,463 remained.

The buses ran 6,472,447 miles (456,813 more than in the previous year), whilst the trams covered 2,708,803. miles, against 2,707,511 in 1935-36. The but passengers numbered 32,861,556, the trams carrying 38,505,055 people.

RIBBLE BEATS BLACKPOOL.

BLACK.P001... and Fleetwood Corporations have for some time been at variance concerning transport facilities on the Fylde coast. The NorthWestern Traffic Commissioners refused to allow Ribble Motor Services, Ltd.. to run from Fleetwood to Cleveleys, but permitted Blackpool Corporation to operate to Fleetwood.

The Ribble concern, backed by Fleetwood Corporation, appealed, and the Minister of Transport has now directed the Commissioners to allow the Ribble concern's application and to re-hear Blackpool Corporation's application concerning the Blackpool-Fleetwood service, so far as may be necessary to determine the route.
