Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TORY PEER Lord Attlee has added his weight to Commercial Motor's 'Pushing 50' campaign, promising to "argue hard" for the speed limit to be raised when the Road Safety Bill reaches the House of Lords.

This follows front-bench MP Christopher Chope's effort to add an amendment to the bill enabling the maximum speed limit for trucks on single carriageways to be increased from 40 to 50mph (CM 10 February).

Attlee says: "It would be totally unnecessary to overtake on a single carriageway if a truck was travelling at 50mph, therefore reducing the risk of accidents.

"Although the primary reason for raising the speed limit is to prevent overtaking and head-on-collisions it would also help boost productivity," he says.
