AUTOSTEER, the air-operat power steering system, can n( be fitted to a wider range vehicles, claims the manuf, turer RFF Engineering Compel of Yeadon, Leeds.

With the Autosteer system, rotary air valve in the steer wheel hub measures mani steering effort.
When this reaches a predeti mined upper limit, the val meters compress air from ti vehicle's own system to a pow ram connected to the drop arm A separate reservoir is fitti with a non-return to climate i terference with the brakir system.
In the event of an air failui the steering reverts to manual.
