LONDON BUSES has told staff at outlying garages that it needs to reduce significantly its unit costs if it is to win competitive tenders for route provision being sought by both London Regional Transport and the county councils bordering the Greater London area.
LBS says that if it has any hope of winning contracts its working practices and unit costs including wage levels must be comparable to those of its rivals.
