servicing, could weaken the lower wishbones of the front axle on the LT 28, 31 and 35 models. In extreme cases VAG says the lower wishbones could fracture making the vehicle unsteerable.
Although the company says it has had no complaints of lower-wishbone corrosion on the LT, as a precaution it is contacting owners, asking them to call into dealers for a safety check.
Vehicles affected are in the following chassis number ranges: LT28/31 — 286 2 500 001 to 28A 028 794; LT 35 — 296 2 500 001 to 29A 0 028 794.
