VULCANCROWN is starting its unique multi-pick-up Greater London airport service on March 18.

The service, which was the subject of a long and bitter road service licensing case, is being marketed as Airliner.

A fleet of 16 Robin Hoodconverted Iveco Daily 35.8 diese I-powered eight-seat minibuses is being used to start the service although the company hopes that demand will lead to rapid fleet expansion.

Airliner offers a door-to-door pick-up service between any point in Greater London and either Gatwick or Heathrow airports. Each vehicle will undertake no more than four pickups in a given area. The fare per passenger will be £3 to and from Heathrow and £4.50 to and from Gatwick.

The buses are in radio contact with the company base at Heathrow,
