NEW COACH and bus sales fell by 34.4 per cent last month, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
The fall from 352 to 231 contributed to a fall over the first two months of the year from 601 to 468, a drop of 22.1 per cent.
Leyland's share fell from 55.4 per cent for the first two months of 1984 to 50.6 per cent, while second place MetroCammell Weymann increased its share from 13.1 per cent to 21.8 per cent.
Daf and Scania achieved increased market shares, while sales by Bedford and Volvo are running below those for 1984 at present.
