WEST YORKSHIRE PTE's loss-making Hanson coach company has been sold to a Halifax operator for an unspecified price.
Geoffrey Wainwright, managing director of Abbeyways Buses (Halifax) Ltd, is taking control of Hanson Coach Service on April 1, but proposes to retain the existing trading name meantime. A WYPTE spokesman told CM this week that existing contracts and coach bookings would be met either by the PTE or Abbeyways, Services will continue to operate from Huddersfield bus station.
Hanson helped contribute towards a £500,000 loss on WYPTE's coaching activities.
