BRITAIN'S road safety rec is one of the world's best, there is still ample room improvement, Transport ister William Rodgers said week.
Addressing a conferenci road safety officers in Lon( Mr Rodgers said that the t of road deaths remains same as it was 40 years despite a five-fold increas the volume of traffic.
But he added: "As r users, we are continuously posed to the risk of death injury. Road accidents ( this country about £9501 year in lost output, prop+ damage, police, ambulai and hospital services.
"I have always recogn the urgency of reducing d( and injury on our roads. deed, the Government is sj ding in the current year ( £4.5m on publicity for N, road safety topics, and sl E2m on researching into of improving road safety."
