FOUR Ford-based municipal vehicles will be on the Ford stand at the Public Works Exhibition at Olympia next week.
The first is a high-pressure jetting unit, produced by Johnston Brothers (Engineering) Ltd, which is shown on a Ford D1210 4m (13ft) wheelbase chassis. The vehicle, which can be used to pressure clean gullies and pipes up to 1.4m (4.5ft) diameter, has a 54-00-litre (1200 gal) tank, auxiliary engine and jetting-reel equipment. A Lacre refuse compaction body will be shown mounted on a Ford D1411 4.6m (15.2ft) chassis. The American-designed body features all-steel welded construction and it has ribbed sides and welded channel supports.
A second refuse vehicle, the Retriever, with body by Eagle Engineering, will also be on the stand.
The last vehicle is a Yorkshire E-type gully emptier based on a Ford D1110 3.4m (11.2ft) wheelbase chassis.
