BUS DRIVER Ronald Tibble found himself in deep water with the law the day he was accused of driving his bus through a puddle.
For mother of two Vivienne Witherington claimed he ploughed through it — splashing her and her daughters.
And her allegation put him before Slough magistrates in what prosecuting solicitor Jim Astle admitted was "an unusual case".
Mr Tibble, 59, of Bolton Road, Windsor — a bus driver for 33 years — denied driving his double-decker bus without consideration for other persons using the road. Mr Tibble, who has an award for 25 years' safe driving and has never had an accident or been reported before, denied driving through the puddle.
"I know every pothole of that road and after rain there has always been a puddle where the road has subsided," he said. "I always avoid going through water and I did this time."
The magistrates dismissed the case against him.
