FOR A LOT OF WASTE: Orders worth about £20,000 have been placed with Powell Duffryn Engineering Co. Ltd., by the Ford Motor Co. Ltd. and the Shell Company of Venezuela Ltd. for Dempster waste disposal equipment.

ART1CS FOR ABERDEEN: A repeat order for articulated vehicles worth £40000 has been secured by Albion Motors from Charles Alexander and Partners Ltd., of the Transport Development Group. It specifies 14 Albion Clydesdale and 14 Scammell 1214-ton semi-trailers.

ALL AUSTINS : Orders placed recently with L. F. Dove (C.V.) Ltd. for Austin chassis with Dove Distributor bodies include one from The " 1940 " Cleaners for a 2-tonner, one from White Heather Model Laundry for three 30-cwt. models and one from Londis Grovisions for a 7-tonner. Other recent orders for Dove are seven Austin Minivans for the Corporation of Argentine Meat Producers and 24 Austin 10-12-cwt. vans for the Metropolitan Water Board.

SCARAB FOUR-WHEELERS: Sixty Scammelt Scarab-Fours have been ordered by South African Railways to replace its existing fleet of Mechanical Horses. The order is worth over £60,000.

G.M.s FOR N.Y.: The New York City Transit Authority has ordered 605 buses from General Motors Corp. at a cost of about i5-8 m. Delivery wilt commence in May, at 40 or 50 units a week.

FRENCH ORDER A.E,C.: Since the A.E.C.fWilleene Monarch was introduced at the Paris Salon four months ago, 69 A.E.C. Monarch chassis have been ordered by Etablissements Willeme, The A.E.C.I Willetne Monarch is based on the standard Ch fiSSi5 but is fitted with Willente's Horizon cab.

MORE A.E.C. FOR MARSTON VALLEY: Twenty-five more A.E.C. Mammoth Major eight-wheelers have been ordered by the Marston Valley Brick Co. The new vehicles will have A.E.C. AV690 diesel engines (developing 192 b.h.p.) and six-speed gearboxes.

MORE FOR ALDERSHOT: The Aldershot and District Traction Co. Ltd., has placed a repeat order for 50 Dennis Loline Mk. III double-decker bus chassis. The contract, valued at about £168,000, represents a cost per chassis of approximately 13,360. Gardner 6LW engines, five-speed gearboxes and air suspension for the rear axles are specified, the chassis specification being identical to the previous batch of Lolines for this operator. A road test of one of these vehicles appeared in "The Commercial Motor" of January 4.

TWO MORE FOR RAMSBOTTOM : Another two Leyland PD3A.1 double-decker chassis have been ordered by Ramsbottom U.D.C. transport department. They will have synchromesh gearboxes, air brakes and 72-seat front entrance bodywork by East Lmcashire Coachbuilders Ltd.
