Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

VOLKSWAGEN president Carl Hahn said this week that his company will take over the Spanish light van, and car builder SEAT "as soon as possible".

SEAT, which used to be virtually part of the Fiat group, now builds the Volkswagen Santana car under licence, and has used Porsche as a design house for its most recent mechanical de velopmcnt work.

But Hahn says the negotiations over SEAT's move into the VW stable — just rechristened Volkswagen AG, front the clumsy VAC — could take some time.

SEAT is launching a range of Spanish-built cars in the UK 'next month which will be supplemented by a light commercial model in 1987 (CM, September 7).
