Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NATIONAL rebuilt-as-new injector ex change service has been instituted by Globe and Simpson Ltd. under the name of Red Plus and is now available through the 104 local establishments of the group companies which extend from Elgin to Fahnouth.

Injectors are sent out in drop-proof polystyrene packing and, on exchange, sell at 22s. 6d. each. A 5,000-mile guarantee is given.

Justification for the slightly higher cost as compared with reconditioned units is better maintenance of engine performance and the fact that injector changes are likely to be less frequent. Globe and Simpson says that it has switched from local reconditioning to the new system because engine designs are advancing rapidly and the higher ratings demand more exacting standards of performance from fuel-injection equipment.

The Red Plus service covers various Bedford, BMC, and Perkins applications and is scheduled to include various Leyland and AEC injectors in the near future.

The work is carried out at Burnley, Lancs., in a purpose-built plant of Injection Maintenance Ltd., a company now part of the G. and S. Group and one that over many years has provided an expert technical service on fuel injection.
