Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ITANDALISM to bus seats alone now V costs Ribble Motor Services /5,000 a year, says general manager Mr. George Brook.

In spite of efforts of bus crews and staff in plain clothes who make spot checks on certain journeys, it is difficult to catch culprits in the act.

So an appeal has gone out to the passengers to help in stamping out the "senseless, costly and anti-social" behaviour of the few.

Mr. J. Buller, superintendent of the Ribble body shop at Preston, says that seat slashing and other acts of vandalism have grown steadily worse in his 14 years in the post. And, in the past two years alone, vandalism has doubled.
