MIDLAND RED NORTH'S Shrewsbury-based Hotspur coaching operation, captured a 70 per cent share of the excursion market in less than 12 months.

Manager Chris Niblock is confident that in 1984 Hotspur can expand to 80 per cent of the market. He said: "A large proportion of the excursion market now has resulted from our promotion of trips. We have increased the market and in so doing have increased our share from seven per cent to 70 per cent.

"It has never been our intention to entice business from our competitors, but to strengthen our position in the market by introducing new and varied destinations.

"We feel that the younger section of the population isn't sufficiently catered for in excursion programmes and we shall be looking to increase that area of business in 1984."
