Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE BROOKLANDS group of companies which includes Norde Suspensions, and Norde Retarding Systems (UK franchise holder for Jacobs Engine Brakes) has purchased the assets of Rydewell Suspensions from the receiver.

Rydewell, together with Transquip, Spencer and Sons and the other companies in the McCahill group went into receivership last year.

Transquip's assets were recently purchased by King Trailers (CM, December 17, 1983).

Norde has acquired the Rydewell name and current designs, the copyright of all drawings and the latest Rydewell patent applications (though not the original Rydewell patent) but has not accepted the liability of warranty on existing suspensions.

However, Norde says that in dividual claims will receive "sympathetic consideration" and all 20 Norde distributors will stock Rydewell parts.

A new company, to be called Rydewell Suspensions (1984) Ltd is to be formed.

Rydewell's Corby plant is now closed and all enquiries should be directed to Norde's Northampton office, phone 0604 493161.
