Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A STRICHEN firm which admitted it had been fined £15 for running a lorry with a defective tyre had two of its 15 lorries suspended from its licence for a month by the Scottish LA at Aberdeen last week. Mr Joseph Ritchie, transport manager of John Rhind (Farms) Ltd, said that since the conviction the company had changed its method for inspecting its vehicles' tyres. Weekly inspections were now being made by the firm from whom tyres were bought.

Aberdeen fish merchant, Joe Little, of Sinclair Road, Torry, had one of its vehicles curtailed and another suspended for three months at the same hearing. The court heard that the firm had been fined £10 at Aberdeen Sheriff Court for an overloading offence.

Timber merchant Riddoch of Rothiemay Ltd, of Reidhaven Street, Elgin, also had one of its vehicles suspended for a month when the court heard the company had been fined £20 for overloading.

Elgin haulage contractor Mr David S. Alexander was refused an application for a variation on a licence and was warned there would be serious consequences if he did not observe the terms of inspection records for his vehicles. Mr Henry Aylmer, deputy LA, said when one of Mr Alexander's vehicles was examined, parts of the vehicle had not been properly inspected.
