Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A SUCCESS is reported for the only Post bus which operates in the London area. The service, to and from the isolated Surrey villagel of Coldharbour and Oaley, has been operating for more than a year and has carried a total of more than 6,000 passengers. When the service began in August last year it carried less than 100 passengers per week. The average is now 135 a week though a record was set recently with 205 passengers being carried in a 51/2-day period.

Passengers revenue for the first year was £452. Broken down into quarterly figures this amount shows how the service has gained in popularity. The first quarter produced £92, the second £97, the third £107 and the final period £125. Although it is too early for a final judgement to be made the PO's South. Eastern Postal .Region is hoping that the iamount will be sufficient to cover additional operating costs (the 11-seater Commer bus compared with a conventional post van) and that no subsidy from the local authority will have to be applied for.
