for LT's Metropolitans
AN ORDER from London Transport for 164 Metropolitan double-deckers has been confirmed at a price said to be in excess of £2.5m. The order — foreshadowed in LT's annual report — calls for the buses to be delivered next year. The 72-seat vehicles will have separate exit and entrance doors.
A senior LT bus engineer is quoted as saying in LT News that "We are well satisfied with the engineering performance of the singledeck Metropolitan and we hope that we shall get a similar response from the double-decker".
