Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TWO COACHES which will be on show at Earls Court next week on Van Hoots stand are the pre-production models of a revised series destined to enter production in Eire in about six months' time. The two coaches — on Fdrd R1114 and Volvo B58 chassis — are outwardly identical with Van Hool current 300 series. However, under the surface there are a number of detail modifications.

Tliese have peen made thefneeds of the MK market which Van Hool is hoping to enter in a big way — and by the production techniques used at the Van Hool McArdie works in Dublin. The luxury coach bodies are to be built on the expensive jigs which have been installed in the ex-CIE bus body works to build the new Van Hool double-decker (this will be shown at Earls Court on the adjacent Van Hoof McArdle stand).

Main changes to the specification of the 300 are: alteration of heater controls, radio position and so on for righthand-drive chassis, attention to the requirement imposed by the tilt-test, lower guard rail on the body sides, special entrance door and steps, special emergency door, revised seat spacing and conversion of lighting system to left-hahd dip.

Though this Van Hool body is outwardly similar to the 300 series currently built in Belgium, it is in fact the first pre-production model destined for production by Van Hool McArdle in Dublin.
