Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

imported vehicles from their port c arrival to virtually anywhere in th UK. I am concerned because m employers tell me, that I am nc required to keep to drivers' hours. would appreciate your opinion. AIR if Drivers' Hours Regs do apply, ho do I stand driving an importe vehicle? is it classified as being a international journey and would! I limited to international driver hours?

And if drivers' hours regs appl how do I get the necessary doe, mentation, because as far as I a, aware my employer doesn't have t operator's licence?

A Drivers' hours are laid dov in Part VI of the Transpo Act 1968. Section 95 stipulates ti vehicles and drivers subject to th control.

The drivers concerned are thc engaged on the carriage of passeng( or goods by road and the vehicles z public service vehicles, mot vehicles (other than psv) which c carry more than 12 passengers, a goods vehicles -in general, ovei tons unladen and articulat vehicles.

It is generally accepted that driver not engaged in work for whi an operators' licence is required dc not need to keep records thou prudence and road safety dema that he should observe the hoi restrictions.

In any case, the driving job y have described presumably does r involve the carriage of goods by no and you do not need to keep a I book. IN LAST week's article I poked fun at the RTITB for their bureaucratic optimism in trying to evaluate the training effort of large companies wishing to obtain exemption from levy.

The bulk of road transport companies will not, in the foresee able future, be blessed or cursed with an exemption certificate from the Board. The RTITB wish to encourage employers to qualify for exemption and to this end employers in scope will receive various grants related to the worthiness of the training provided for defined categories of staff, It is rather akin to parental deductions of a child's pocket money for departures from good behaviour.
