Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

If that qualifies as one of Wilfred Pickles' celebrated embarrassing moments, what about the chairman of a motor trade cornpany whose wife, obviously uninvited, arrived very drunk at a luncheon given to the press to announce a new product?

I have a feeling that she didn't like her husband much because immediately he began his speech she started to heckle him from a table in the centre of the room. Some of her comments were verging on the personal but her husband, looking grim, pressed on and the equally embarrassed guests pretended she wasn't there.

The climax came when she fell over the back of her chair and had to be picked off the floor by two members of the company's staff. That disturbance could not be ignored and shortly afterwards the luncheon came to an abrupt close.
