AN interesting adaptation of a Humber Super Snipe long-wheelbase Mark IV station wagon was recently completed for the British Broadcasting Corporation by Rootes, Ltd. It is one of four that the BR C. outside-broadcasts division is to use as mobile recording units on the Commonwealth Royal tour.

The all-steel bodywork, constructed by Hawscm, -Ltd., Sunbury-on-Thames, incorporates a heavy-gauge framed tailboard which will be lowered when recordings are being made. The recording equipment is of the normal portable

pattern used by the B.B.C. It. is Powered by Exide 12-volt batteries, A 2-cwt.-capacity luggage rack is fitted on the roof. The spare wheel is carried in the front portion of the rack.
