Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TRANSPORT by road of seven 52-56ton sections of refinery equipment ver an 11-mile route from Durban ocks through the centre of the city was ecently undertaken by Law and Miller Pty.), Ltd., with three Leyland vehicles. The equipment, which included a 56MI cylinder, 73 ft. long and 14 ft. in iameter, estimated to be one of the trgest pieces ever landed at a South &lean port, was for the new Durban lant of the Standard Vacuum Refinery 7o. of S.A. (Pty.), Ltd., the first oil :finery to be built in the Union.

Loads were placed on a Jahn semiailer with a rear bogie comprising four

independent oscillating axles. It was beaded by a Super Hippo, and a Super Beaver and a Beaver pushed. The height of the loads varied between 18 ft. 3 in. and 21 ft., making daytime movement impossible. Overhead power lines had to be switched off and sometimes cut.

To negotiate a I-in-8 gradient, the Beaver joined the Super Hippo at the front. The outfit was pulled with the Beaver in second gear and the other prime movers in auxiliary third gear, eventually topping the rise at 10 m.p.h. and proceeding down the valley to reach the, site five hours after starting.
