Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TW0 old-established South London coach operators, Bourne and Balmer (Croydon), Ltd., and Wallis Hire Service, Ltd., have been acquired by A. Timpson and Sons, Ltd., Catford, London, S.E.6.

The business of Bourne and Balmer was founded in 1920 by the late Mr. A. H. Bourne. Wallis Hire Service, of Forest Hill, trading as Dartmouth Coaches, was originally the business of Edward Paul, Ltd. Both undertakings operate express services to south and south-east coast resorts, as , well as excursions and tours and private hire.

A representative of Timpson's refused to disclose details of the fleets operated by the two concerns, but Timpson's run about 95 coaches of A.E.C., Bedford and Leyland manufacture.

The boards of both companies have been reconstituted, and now consist of Mr. Raymond Birch, chairman, Mr. F. P. Arnold, Mr. A. F. R. Carling, Mr. R. G. James and Mr. R. I. H. Longman.

This is the third important amalgamation of coach companies in recenl weeks.
