We learn that Alloy Welding Processes, Ltd., and the Premier Electric Welding Co., Ltd., have amalgamated, and a new company, known as Murex 'Welding Processes, Ltd., with headquarters at Ferry Lane Works, Walthamstow, London, E.17., has been formed.

The Devon General Omnibus and Touring Co., Ltd. has now placed a contract valued at in,oce for the erection of a bus depot at Newton Road,

Torquay. * Col. E. S. Sinnott, the surveyor of Gloucestershire, . estimates that, op the most conservative basis of calculation, the higher speeds now legally permitted for motor vehicles and increased traffic will throw an extra annual burden on the county of £38,715 for road maintenance.

At Kalgoorlie, which is one of the richest gold-mining areas in the world, the gold mines have their own ambulance, this being maintained by a voluntary welfare committee. The ambulance body is mounted on a Hillman Fourteen chassis, which, we are told, is giving every satisfaction.

Having previously used American lorries, the Public Works Department of the Government of Jamaica ordered, in June last, two Commer 3-ton lorries. These have put up such a good performance and the servicing arrangements have been so satisfactory that the Government has ordered a further three 3-ton chassis.
