Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

QNLY a few weeks after the Minister of Transport confirmed the grant of a licence to Victoria Coaches (Leighon-Sea), Ltd., to operate an express service between Southend and London. Westcliff-on-Sea Motor Services, Ltd., have applied for permission to extend their summer service from Southend to London throughout the winter, and to increase the number of journeys.

The (then) Railway Executive and Westcliff-on-Sea Motor Services, Ltd, who are also controlled by the British

Transport Commission, strongly opposed Victoria Coaches' application and appeals.

The State-owned undertaking is also seeking permission to stop at the new town of Basildon, where a large trading estate is being built.

Victoria Coaches are expected to oppose the application, the date of the hearing of which has not yet been fixed.
