AS from the beginning of next month. the Cheshire haulage group. Macclesfield Transport, Ltd. (formerly known as Macclesfield and District Transport and Trading Co., Ltd.) are to run daily services to Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, the Midlands and the London district. At present they hold permits from British Road Services to operate these services three times a week.
Six vehicles of 6-8-ton payload capacity have been purchased from B.R.S. by members of the group. These lorries will be used on the long-distance services to augment the 15 vehicles now operating under permit. Regular services are provided also throughout the north-west and the West Riding.
