iyALOG intercommunication units manufactured by Cass

Electronics, Ltd., White Hart Yard, Guildford Street, Chertsey, Surrey, can be spaced up to 200 yd. apart. They are simple to install and would be useful for contact between a traffic office and loading bays.

Up to .nine sub-stations can be connected to the Dialog Major De Luxe master unit, which costs £33. Each sub-station can call the master unit which, in turn, can call them all individually. The normal DLN substation is priced at £4 10s. and is, in effect, a highly sensitive microphone and loudspeaker.

Subject to background noise, two-way communication can be carried on with a. person up to 10 yd. from this unit. Weatherproof sub-stations are available for outdoor use. The master unit is powered by four 1.5 v. torch batteries, which last for up to a year.

Two other heaters offered produce 75,000 B.Th.U. and combustion chamber, where it is burnt with a domestic grade of fuel oil, while the remainder passes through a steeltube heat exchanger.

Hot air output from the top of the unit can, if required, be fed into ducting up to 100 ft. long when a suitable fan is used, It is stated that carbon deposits do not occur in the combustion chamber and that any soot or loose ash which falls into it disintegrates and disappears.
