THE ROAD Haulage Association's vehicle and traffic information service is to be extended nationwide for a three-month trial period from June 1-August 28.
A pilot scheme is being conducted in the Metropolitan and Southeastern, West Midland, and Scottish areas, but the nationwide scheme has been arranged to give members in all areas similar opportunities to assess the plan.
Following the lines of the Datafreight scheme, the new service is computer-based and provides traffic management information for 'road transport. It stores information on the location of goods which need to be moved anywhere in the country and of vehicles which usually run empty. Updated information on loads and vehicles is then offered immediately.
