Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BATTERIES can now be charged in situ, independently of mains electrical supply, with the latest petrol-driven generator from Hiway (Automotive) Ltd, Corsham, Wiltshire.

The generator combines a 3.5hp Villiers four-stroke engine with a 40-amp three-phase alternator and a silicone rectifer. A solid-state control unit safeguards the battery against overcharging and protects the alternator from damage.

Two versions are available: the 12-volt model costs £275, and the 24-volt £325.
